Rafael Nodal Promoted To Vice President At Tabacalera USA
Rafael Nodal, one of the owners of Aging Room Cigars and the head of product capability and marketing for Altadis U.S.A., has been appointed vice president, product capability for Tabacalera USA.
Altadis is the cigarmaking and distribution subsidiary of Tabacalera, producing such brands as the Dominican versions of Romeo y Julieta, Montecristo and H. Upmann. Nodal will continue to support Altadis U.S.A., according to Javier Estades, president and chief executive officer of Tabacalera USA, and in his new role he will do more work at the company’s Casa de Montecristo line of high-end cigar bars and also at JR Cigars, the company’s retail and online unit. Estades says Nodal will work with the units to “build their proprietary portfolio of premium cigars in a new regulatory environment.” Nodal will continue to report to Estades in this new role.
Nodal is also one of the owners of Aging Room Cigars, a brand that was named Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2019. He joined the Tabacalera and Altadis team in 2017. In late August, the company shuffled some of its executives, appointing them to new positions.
