La Flor Dominicana Inks European Distribution Deal With Royal Agio

Just in time for the InterTabac trade show, La Flor Dominicana has a new business partner to help bring its products to the European market. Royal Agio Cigars, a Dutch cigar company that also makes cigars in the Dominican Republic, has announced that it will now distribute La Flor Dominicana products in Germany and The Netherlands.

According to Royal Agio, La Flor Dominicana owner Litto Gomez, along with his son Tony Gomez, will be appearing at the Royal Agio Cigars booth at this weekend’s InterTabac trade show in Dortmund, Germany.

“La Flor Dominicana’s innovative portfolio of products nicely complements our current line-up of handmade cigars in Europe,” said Boris Wintermans, CEO for Royal Agio Cigars, in a press release. “We look forward bringing these great brands to cigar lovers in Germany and The Netherlands.”

La Flor Dominicana is based in Coral Gables, Florida. Company owners Litto Gomez and Ines Lorenzo-Gomez make their cigars at La Flor’s factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic, using tobaccos grown on their farm in nearby La Canela. In 2016, La Flor Dominicana’s Andalusian Bull was named Cigar of the Year by Cigar Aficionado. The company distributes its own products in the United States.

Royal Agio Cigars is known for its machine-made Panter brand as well as its handmade Balmoral cigars, which are produced at the Agio Caribbean Tobacco Company factory in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. The company recently expanded its premium cigar portfolio by adding two new Balmoral cigars and a value-priced brand called San Pedro de Macorís at this year’s International Premium Cigar And Pipe Retailers trade show in Las Vegas.
