Indiana Ortez Joins Online Retailer Best Cigar Prices
Third-generation cigarmaker Indiana Ortez is now part of Best Cigar Prices, an online retailer based in Drums, Pennsylvania. In her new, full-time role as factory ambassador, Ortez aims to further connect Best Cigar Prices with manufacturers in Nicaragua and Honduras and expand the company’s presence in Central America. She will also be overseeing quality control of the company’s products, which include private labels and exclusive brands.
If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Ortez is the daughter of Omar Ortez, tobacco grower and cigar industry veteran. Ortez got her start in the cigar business at the age of 22 working at her father’s Agroindustrial Nicaraguense de Tabacos S.A. (Agrotobaccos) factory in Condega, Nicaragua. Eventually, she became quality control manager and chief marketing officer for the factory. Her résumé includes stints with Ventura Cigar Co. and Mombacho Cigars, as well as owning her own company, Casa de Ortez. She even had a guest appearance at Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke Las Vegas Roll Your Own seminar.
“This work reflects my commitment to the tobacco industry in both Nicaragua and Honduras,” Ortez says of her new position. “While my roots are deeply tied to my family, this new role also allows me to collaborate with other renowned companies and key industry figures, integrating shared knowledge to create new opportunities and strengthen our position in global markets.”
