Habanos Names New Commercial Vice President
Habanos S.A., Cuba's cigar monopoly that is 50 percent owned by Britain's Imperial Tobacco Group PLC, has appointed Leopoldo Cintra González as its new commercial vice president.
Cintra González assumes the new post after a period in Habanos as its control and sales management director. His new position entails oversight of international distribution and marketing for all Cuban cigars.
Cintra González also has experience in the international arena. He worked in Sweden until mid-2015 as the commercial director for Nordic, the exclusive distributor of Cuban cigars in that country.
Cintra González fills a post that had been occupied by Jorge Luís Fernández Maique, a longtime Habanos executive and Cuban cigar industry veteran who was relieved of his duties in 2015.
