Tabacalera La Alianza, the Dominican factory where Ernesto Perez-Carrillo rolls his cigars, including two that have been named Cigar of the Year, is now known as Casa Carrillo.

“As we look towards the future, we are embracing a name that encapsulates our heritage, our vision, and our commitment to tradition: Casa Carrillo,” says Perez-Carrillo. “Despite our unwavering dedication and top-tier quality, we've observed that our factory's previous name wasn't as closely associated with our legacy and our flagship cigar brand E.P. Carrillo as we'd like. The term casa, meaning "home," reflects our essence. It's where our iconic brands have not just been created but lovingly nurtured, much like a family. Carrillo represents more than just a name; it embodies a legacy and over 50 years of unparalleled commitment and artistry in the cigar industry. We look forward to persistently producing exceptional cigars for the E.P. Carrillo brand and collaborating with our present and upcoming private label partners.”

The factory, which is located in a free trade zone in Santiago, Dominican Republic, has been the home of Perez-Carrillo's cigars for nearly 15 years. He signed the lease on the factory in April 2009. The factory has rolled a tremendous number of cigars here over the years, including the E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic, named Cigar of the Year in 2018, and the E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel, named Cigar of the Year for 2020. In addition to rolling his own cigars there, he also makes some cigars under contract for Crowned Heads

Perez-Carrillo has more than 50 years of experience making cigars.
