Drew Estate Cancels Barn Smokers, Postpones 25th Anniversary Party
Our beloved cigar shops, lounges and events have all been opening up, but the new Covid Delta variant has forced some businesses to make tough decisions. Drew Estate announced yesterday that it is cancelling its Barn Smoker 2021 season, scheduled to take place in Connecticut, Kentucky and Florida, and will be postponing its 25th Anniversary Celebration known as DE25, scheduled for Southfork Ranch in Dallas.
Along with the cancellation and postponement, the company that makes Liga Privada, Herrera Esteli and Undercrown also said it will not partake—in person—in any multi-vendor events or trade shows, as well as in-store events.
Barn Smoker attendees will receive a full refund of their ticket price over the course of the next few days, and they will be first in line for tickets next season. Since the company is also unsure of when DE25 will finally take place, it is also refunding all ticketholders. Customers who purchased tickets through a retail partner should contact them for any refund.
“My heart deeply aches as we make this announcement,” says president and founder Jonathan Drew. “We were truly looking forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary together in Dallas and getting back both to the farms and your stores, together in fellowship, after being away for so long.”
