C.A.O. Takes on Distribution of Café Crème Cigars
C.A.O. International Inc. has become the exclusive U.S. distributor of Café Crème and Nobel Petit cigars.
The machine-made, dry cured smokes are made by Henri Wintermans, the Dutch company that acquired C.A.O. for undisclosed terms in February.
Prior to the deal, Davidoff of Geneva distributed the cigars in the United States. The move isn't surprising: although Wintermans is one of the world's largest cigar producers, it had little presence in the United States prior to buying C.A.O., which owns a host of premium cigar brands and has a sales force of 11 regional sales managers, relatively large for the U.S. premium cigar business.
