While Cuban brands such as Cohiba or Montecristo are quite well-known to even novices in the cigar world, Sancho Panza might be new for some. It’s understandable as it’s not only a very small brand in the Habanos portfolio but it comes in only one regular-production size, the Belicoso. Despite this small share of the marketplace, its approachable price point and assertive strength have cemented its place in the hearts of aficionados. Every puff of this small belicoso (box date: April 2025) is powerful, yet intensely dessert-like, carrying decadently sandwiched layers of chocolate, honey-roasted peanut and toffee, sprinkled with assorted dried fruits such as cherry, raisin and fig.
