Tasting Note

In 1994, Litto Gomez and Ines Lorenzo-Gomez opened a cigar factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. It was a new venture for them, and their first cigars were very mild. Three decades after, the couple is still in the cigar business, and they have built a reputation for making full-bodied blends. The company grows its own tobacco, hearty Dominican leaf strengthened and tested by the dry, hot and windy climate of La Canela. That powerful tobacco is an ingredient in this chisel-shaped figurado, along with some aged binder leaf from Cotuí, Dominican Republic, and a wrapper of Ecuadoran Sumatra. The result is rich, opulent smoke layered in leather, coffee and coconut, with some clove that scents the long finish.
